Bee in The Lotus was created in response to a very personal journey...
In 2013, I found myself face-to-face with old traumas that had quietly been resurfacing my whole life, finally demanding to be seen & acknowledged. It was during this intense and pivotal time that my awareness of the intrinsic link between mind, body & spirit became more apparent than ever to me, as did the importance of needing to treat them as a whole.
This awakening sparked a deep desire to seek out tools, teachings & practices that would support my healing. I returned to yoga & meditation, finding profound expression & release through devotional chanting. I also discovered powerful voices in the form of authors & spiritual teachers whose words spoke directly to a part of me that nothing else had before.
In 2019, I became a certified Kirtan Leader after completing a 200hr YTT under the guidance of Nikki Slade, a pioneering voice in Western-style Bhakti Yoga. Kirtan - known as the Yoga of the Voice - opened my heart & changed the trajectory of my life in unexpected ways.
Attending retreats & women’s gatherings, I witnessed the sacred energy that arises when women come together in truth & presence. The power of voice & gathering women in circle has informed a massive part of what I do today & why I do it.
After my Kirtan training, my journey with sound deepened further as I trained in Therapeutic Sound Healing with the Sound Healing Academy. These modalities quickly began to take on a new depth & purpose. What started as a way to express myself was becoming a meaningful tool for healing and support - both in my own life and in the work I offer to others. I’ve always been hugely drawn towards a holistic approach to wellbeing & skincare and have intuitively worked in this way for some time. Loving herbal teas, essential oils & their positive effects & benefits.
During my decade working as a Skin Therapist, I realised that my clients’ needs often exceeded that of just a hands-on treatment - with many often opening up about personal challenges they were facing in their lives & spending almost as much time talking as they did on the couch! I saw clearly how stress & unresolved emotions could be held deep within the mind & body.
This insight led me to qualify as a Coach and NLP Practitioner & allowed me to combine these practical tools for transformation to incorporate a more Holistic approach. This insight inspired me to explore the deeper healing modalities I work with today - ones that support not just the outer layers, but the emotional & energetic roots of well-being. That journey led me to Kundalini Yoga & Meditation, Sound Therapy & the powerful, heart-opening practices I now share in my women’s circles and community offerings.
During the quiet stillness of lockdown, I felt called to connect to heart-centered practices - that’s when my journey with cacao deepened. I completed my 3 month Cacao Ceremony Facilitator immersion training online with Flo Friedman of Cacao Lab - a deeply nourishing experience that offered a grounded sense of community during an uncertain time. Even though the world felt distant, working with this sacred plant medicine opened a portal to inner stillness, emotional release & gently profound heart activation. Cacao has since become a cherished part of my own practice & my offerings, bringing a softness, depth & sacred intention to my group & one-to-one offerings.
In the warm summer of 2022, I immersed myself deeper in the world of sound with a transformative 10 day Gong Master Training at the serene & historic Hawkwood College in Stroud. Nestled in the heart of the English countryside, surrounded by rolling hills, ancient trees & a beautiful natural wellspring, the experience was nothing short of magical. Each day was filled with deep learning & powerful sound journeys. The resonance of gongs echoed endlessly through the air from early in the morning until the dusky hours of nightfall as people practiced & connected to these sacred & magical instruments. This training not only expanded my knowledge of sound as a healing modality but also deepened my personal connection to vibrational energy and its capacity to shift, release, and restore.
September 2023 I found myself In the heart of Ubud in Bali, Indonesia. Surrounded by blazing sunshine, buzzing crickets, statues of gods & goddesses everywhere, paddy fields in abundance & the vibrant hum of nature. Held deeply in arms of the sacred energy of Mama Bali, I transitioned through one of the greatest portals of my life so far as I undertook a 21 day intensive Kundalini Yoga Teacher Training - a deeply immersive and life-changing experience. The island’s spiritual essence held space for profound healing, transformation, & connection to my higher self. Each day was filled with mantra, breathwork & movement. Moments of silence, anger, joy, frustration tears & everything in-between cracked us all open and brought us closer to our true essence. This training didn’t just deepen my understanding of Kundalini Yoga - it reshaped my inner & outer worlds & affirmed my path as a guide for others on their own journeys of awakening.
Today, I specialise in Kundalini Yoga & Meditation & share a Holistic approach to wellness incorporating all I have learnt & that has supported my own journey.
Through this work, whilst I openly welcome everyone, my deep personal focus will always be in empowering women who have survived childhood trauma or abuse to call back to the missing parts of themselves so that they can live a full life in complete congruence with all they are, all they have been & all they are yet to become.
